:censored: :censored: Open university have messed up my application. I've just spoken to a lady who has accepted it's their fault and will do her best to get me on the course for this year. I was due to start the E123 in October.

If they can't get me on it then I'll have to wait another whole year, I'm so annoyed.

They messed up with me too!!!!

Lost all my paperwork and my cheque

Had to re- do the lot again

And all the paperwork kept going around in the post.

Managed to get it all sorted eventually and due to start oct, but it hasnt given me much faith in the OU.

Hope you get it all sorted soon

They have put me down as a late registration now and I won't know till wednesday if they are going to accept it or not.

If they turn it down I'll be able to start my degree in Feb with a level 2 course

They messed up my paperwork, too, way back last December or something. I had forgotten about that. In the end, cos they kept screwing it up, they just said okay, you're enrolled instead of making me fill it all out AGAIN.

When in doubt, doublecheck!

Its working with children in the early years.

I'm doing the childhood and Youth Studies degree at the moment, I started out this year working and doing Psychology and Criminology then got so fed up with DD100 that I have switched to the above course and the ICP! and giving up out of the house work in Jan! Still have time to change to the Early Years if I want to later on providing I stay on the same subjects. I'm doing ED209 Child Development in Feb09.

Its listing on my OU student website so I must be registered!

Thanks for that Sarah, getting worried about fitting it all in now. Not sure how I am going to find the 16 hours study time a week it says I will need for E123 and E124 .......

Speed read and don't feel you have to do every tiny bit of the questions... nobody checks!

Make notes as you go along...

Read the questions you need to answer first or you'll end up reading the study topics again to find quotes.

You'll be fine! :D

Ok thanks - no doubt I will be back on her for advice. I have been asked to go for an introduction meeting on studying with Open University on Saturday, it says it is just a general meet and not about actual course or to meet tutors but don't think I can go, no one to have my own girls ... do you think it will matter if I miss??

Not really no... but they do say people who go to the actual study sessions get better marks.

All tutors are different and they all want different things from you.
