just a 2 questions

a childminder told me last night night we have to do 3 obs a week i thought it was 3 a month and if the child like what i have who is 4 and at school all day i wont have to do the obs and stuff as im not her primary carer

Different trainers are saying different things... and rumours are flying.

Ofsted and the Eyfs DO NOT tell us what to do!!!!

There is no legal requirement to do an ob a week, an ob a month, 5 obs a day...!

We have to show we are meeting the leanring and development needs of each child...

Do that in any way you see fit :D

We were told that we must do regular observations, and it was up to us to decide what regular is. She said that as long as we do about one a month Ofsted will be happy.

Yeah we were told the same. Aim for 1 a month unless the child has Wow Moments, where you would have additional obs :)

I agree with all. Its up to you how many you do. The way im seeing it, the more we do to show Ofsted, the better the grading will be.

You still need to follow Eyfs for every child who is in the agegroup covered by Eyfs.

The amount you do depends on how much the child is with you... if the child is in full time school, then you will aim to complement what she is doing elsewhere...

If the child is with you full time then you will be delivering the whole eyfs...

No guidance has been given on obs and my trainer is saying once every four to six weeks. I know this won't be enough and as soon as I start assessing it will fall into place
