Just remembered something I learnt on Health and Safety course yesterday. Apparently we should very carefully remove the fire blanket every year and check it hasnt disintegrated down the folds. Everyone on the course was :eek: - how do you get it back in? But there you go - thats what she told us to do.

i dont think this is a problem with the old style fire blankets but i agree the new ones are a nightmare i have a sticker on the back off it saying i have cheaked time and dated it

Glad I have the older one.

Wouldn't it be more economical just to by one each year?

if you are using old ones make sure they meet the latest BS standard.

Some areas recommend fire blankets approved to BS 6575, this standard was replaced by BS EN 1869:1997

as far as I'm aware that is. :)

Checked mine - its BS EN 1869 :thumbsup:
