I wondered if Tim or anyone here could suggest any good fire safety games to play with the children?

At the moment, we have a fire person's yellow hat in dressing up clothes and we use hosepipe to weave in the fence.

There is a little person fireman in the small world toys but he doesn't have a fire engine... he usually goes in the boat!

We do our fire practices and talk about fire safety every time the smoke alarm goes off... which is quite often depending on who is cooking

I was thinking it would be nice to include fire safety in our games in other ways... :D

why dont you make a fire safety bingo game up for your children as well, or dominoe game

My children like playing "Stop, drop and roll" - self explanatory but they know that's what they should do if their clothing catches fire.

They also like our commando crawl - what we do if a room is filled with smoke and we can't see.

Don't think that's quite what you've got in mind though. Will have another think about it

There's a great fire safety song here that you could sing along to or print out the colouring sheets for

Thank you for all the ideas!

I like the you tube video Tim and I'd forgotten I have the book...

Our local fire station has an open day and it will be good to complement that with some activities :D

The blanket idea would be good to also use as a parachute game, getting the children to crawl under as it is flapped up and down near the ground. Perhaps at the same time as reciting rhymes.

That really nice Kitty, bright and colourful and to the point!

OK if I add it to the downloads so that it doesn't get lost? (No problem if you'd rather not)
