Feeling a bit down as no enquiries since back from hols :( Haven't heard from two I saw before hols either to confirm or not. Bit frustrating, just want to get started now!!! Will be throwing myself into advertising this week though, going to carry on with leaflet drop and have a few more shops in other villages to try to get leaflet put up. Fingers crossed phone will start ringing soon!!!:(

Honestly don't worry, one minute you have none, the next you will have too many, thats how I found it. My dh laughs that I used to panick and say what if I don't get any mindees and now I have 15 (at different times) on my books and a waiting list!

I did find word of mouth was the way I got my work. Do you belong to a toddler group or playgroup that might be happy to pass on your name or what about friends of friends. The only advertising I did was put my name on the local council list but haven't actually taken on any children this way.

Good luck

Great advice... word of mouth is the way to go! Get to know the locals, meet people in anything kiddy related in the area! I was worried too in the beginning, but am constantly having queries, and sit with a waiting list a year later, I haven't been going that long!

All the best!!!

Word of mouth is the best, tell anyone and everyone who will listen you are a childminder.

Don't forget to ring weekly or more if you want the CIS and update your vacancies.

Try not to worry though we all have quiet times, I know I did and I now have a waiting list, that's how quick things can change.

Good luck with getting some calls

Another little thought........ I always carry some business cards with me (freebee ones from vistaprint) and if someone gets chatting about cm I give them a card (not pushy though....lol).

keep at it, it takes time for people to get to know you're there. do you know any other local childminders as if they are full maybe they could pass on your name to callers they get, this is what we do in my area. good luck something will turn up soon.

Get to know other childminders as well as they should be happy to pass your details on to parents enquiring if they are full

Hi

It will happen. Can you borrow any children and go to schools, nurseries and toddler groups etc? As previous posts say once you are known and recommended.....Don't be afraid to tell everyone you see. Best wishes.
