Hi does anyone know if I would have to pay business rates on my house if I have a small one level extention added on to the back of my house, as have only just started minding and the toys are taking over already. This extention would be a place to keep the toys and not have to take everything back upstairs everyday and would be an extra room to use, however we don't want to have to pay any more on the rates.

no idea but wouldn't have thought so as lots of houses have extensions that are used as childminding rooms or offices.
someone will be along to help soon

You can have an extension on your house without paying business rates...

You are adding a room for the benefit of your family, aren't you? :D

Im not sure on the real answer to this question but if your wanting to put the extension down on your accounts then it would be for childminding so therefor not for family sole use???

Im not sure so dont take my answer as fact but id look into it xxx
Good luck an let us know what u find out as id love to have one done x
