Hi everybody,

Last week I took on a family who have a 4 year old who just started her first year at primary this September, i take care of the child for 1 hour in the morning, and 2 hours after school, i want to make sure i am doing the correct paperwork, am i correct that the school will be her main carer, and the ones detailing a learning journey under the EYFS? what do i need to do with regards to this? do i just make notes of the things we do here, and jot this down? I know OFSTED are hot on starting points so I want to get this right from the start, i have a detailed all amount me that the parents have completed, but do i do ongoing assessments, or is that what school now do? any advice as to what you all do would be great.

Thanks a lot Emma.

Child is in full time education at school, so you are just wrap-around care. Try to work with the school- speak to teachers, read newsletter and see what topics they are doing etc, ask school how you can support learning. But that is it. No records needed. You might want to make a scrap book with the child, just for the child/parent's own interest.
