Childcare.co.uk have released a range of free documents about GDPR for all childminders...

There is also a free video presentation about GDPR and photos of children - Photos of Children and GDPR for Early Years Providers - Childcare.co.uk (https://www.childcare.co.uk/information/photos-of-children-and-gdpr).
For GOLD childcare.co.uk members the documents are available in Microsoft Word format so they can be edited.

Would you please help me with something I’m unsure on?
Am I correct in thinking that the Data Protection Act 1998 and Freedom of Information Act 2000 are still in force, albeit augmented and strengthened by GDPR ?
So I should be adding GDPR requirements, but not removing/deleting all references to the previous legislation. Right......?

The General data protection regulation - gdpr - is replacing the data protection act which is very out of date now (20 years old).
The GDPR is EU legislation which we will be retaining after Brexit.
If you have any documents that link to the data protection act now is the time to change them to GDPR.
GDPR is a much stronger piece of legislation - it's more powerful and requires us to be proactive and compliant from the start :D

Presumably this means I now have to start sending out data protection statements the moment an enquirer gores on waiting list, even if they never make it to 'client' status. :eek:

I think what we'll need to say is ... hi, thank you for your enquiry, now I have your phone number / email address I need to inform you about my privacy notice which is ... wherever (mine will be on my website) ...
Something like that :D
