I love the kid stuff around , their creations and clutter.
I hate the kids stuff around, their creations and clutter!!!!!

Guess it depends on my mood:laughing:

As I'm not childminding at the moment I will tell you what I miss:

Being able to spend large chunks of the day with nature - in the woods, by the pond etc
Feeling that you can really nurture the whole child by catering to their individual needs
Picking the way you do your paperwork - cutting out surplus stuff
Being able to offer a calmer, cosy day when the children need it
Not having a boss
Being creative (not in the arts and crafts sense)
Having time to properly observe children

What I don't miss:
Worrying about upsetting neighbours/parking/noise
Showing prospective parents around my home
Noisy pick ups (some parents, not all)
Irregular income (when children leave)
Lack of adult company and forming long term friendships
Vomit in my home
Pushchairs dragging in leaves and mud in the Autumn
Panicking when the doorbell rings in the middle of the day and praying that it isn't you know who

I love being my own boss and deciding what to do and how and when!
I love spending time with children and having fun. I'd look odd playing on the beach, the woods or the zoo on my own! I love getting crafty and messy and jumping in muddy puddles.

I don't like the panic that sets in when Ofsted are due to visit and I don't like parents taking advantage (I'm slowly learning to be strong )

Love the deep sense of satisfaction the job gives. The unconditional love the babies/toddlers give and their little sayings.

Hate unrealistic expectations from parents. Late payers. Parents tutting if they see another child with a cough/cold. Children arriving in cars with unrealistic clothing for the school run. And parents trivial texting me over the weekend 'sorry to text but .................'
