I know it has been said before but I can't find the answers, can you please tell me how long we are supposed to keep our records for, i.e. accounts, accident book, attendance and child details. I am finally getting round to sorting things out after 12 months of retirement.
Thanks

This information is retained (partly) to protect you from historic claims of abuse.

Accounts are an HMRC thing and it tells you here:

everything related to safeguarding and welfare = until the child is 21 years 3 months old.

Everything related to learning and development including photos = leaves with the child.

SOME LSCBs require cms to keep the 2 year progress checks - others don't comment.

Accounts - Business records if you're self-employed: What records to keep - GOV.UK (https://www.gov.uk/self-employed-records/what-records-to-keep)

I hope that helps :D
