If you could access FREE online interactive training in the evening at a time to suit you... what subjects would you like it to cover? :D

Hi Sarah interesting thread, I'm interested in any training I'm fine with the online bit it's the interactive bit I'm not sure on. Lol X
Having been minding for many years one of the things that really helped me was a course about running a business, how to do a business plan, costings, overheads, profit, loss, marketing I often see threads where the answer says " you need to put you business hat on" and wonder if that's understood. Also see many threads about what to charge and when.
I know our businesses are all unique and different to other businesses but I learnt and it gave me confidence. It was also good to remove the "emotion" and look at the facts rather than a bundle of feelings. Although I'm still hopeless at this bit!! Xx

Something on about 'how to teach'. I know we all naturally do this but I really doubt myself, I am trying to ask move open questions to children but don't always find this natural.
Also phonics etc for the older EYFS children.

I agree with Tulip. The phonics one would be really useful. I've taught both my own kids but it's been a natural process so I'm not confident it's the right way to do it!

And how to teach would be good - sometimes I'm not sure how to extend learning.

Different types of courses on safeguarding please. I've recently done an online course 'A different approach to child poverty'.

Thank you for your feedback!

First aid and safeguarding are tricky - they have to be LA / Ofsted approved.

We have quite a list from the Facebook group as well ... observations, assessments, individual planning, safeguarding policies, coel, radicalisation and British values...

We're going to be busy! :clapping:

Hi Sarah, did i read in your latest newsletter that you would be doing some observation training? I would be very interested in doing that.

Also i agree with phonics - Phonics for dummies would be good for me!

Anything on planning, teaching, observing.......ok, thats pretty much everything!

I have already done one observation training course and it went really well with great feedback - that was my practice run.

I am just waiting for the logistics to be sorted and we'll be rolling something out for everyone soon :D

I would like some "Letters and Sounds" training - I did do a course years ago but struggled to teach it because all of the Government support materials have been archived.

Sorry to hi jack this thread Sarah but it's sort of in the same area. I have at last found a first aid course that runs over two Saturdays (well my friend did) and I'm in the process of booking for myself and my assistant as I was always of the impression that assistants have to have their own first aid certificate. My childminding friend says that they don't need one so who is correct?

Assistants have to have first aid if being left in sole care of the children for up to two hours in any one day. Personally I think all people who work with children including teachers, assistants and nursery workers should be first aid trained it's invaluable.
