I have asked this question before (about a year ago) but had interest for September and my numbers changing. Keen to do a flat rate for new after school care. Do you think £10 from 3 - 5pm is fair, regardless of if parent only wants care til 4pm?

Depends on your area! That is cheap for round here.

Its really difficult to say what rate is acceptable for your area , but certainly a set afterschool rate is fine . Mine is £9 330-6 , including dinner , ...but my area has generally much cheaper rates than yours.

I charge a set rate for after schoolers (3-530 including light tea for £18 ) - mine are all term time only so it's a bit higher than my normal rate and I don't charge in school holidays

I do 2 after school rates - either pick up til 5 which includes a snack for £15 or pick up til 6 inc snack and dinner for £20 and I don't allow pick ups between 5-5:30 due to dinner. They just pay for term time hours and if they want any holiday care they must book and it is my hourly rate (£6.20) in Surrey

I do flat rates for schoolies.

£10 for before or after school, including up to 2 hours care and either breakfast or tea, if they are here when it is served.

£15 for before andafter school, including up to 2 hours care and either breakfast andtea, if they are here when it is served.

No deductions for fewer hours or missed meals.

It may seem over-simplistic but it has saved me from all the picky mucking about I might've had to put up with otherwise.
