:cheerleader: Admin thought it was about time we had another forum competition! :excited:

Since we are hurtling towards the magic figure of 30,000 forum members, we thought the prize should be £30 worth of Amazon vouchers :happy banana:

The question we would like you to answer is: How has the Childminding Forum helped you with your childminding business?

I for one like interesting, funny, clever, well-thought out answers so these are most likely to win!

We will close the competition the second the 30,000th member joins.

Thanks
Rick, Richard, Sarah, FussyElmo, Angeldelight and Pauline

I will start (even though I cant enter).

The forum is my staff room. Made some good friends on here who have helped in good and bad times.

Its always nice knowing that whatever the question someone will know the answer

I visit the forum to talk about poo
Snot and sick and Ofsted too
To vent my anger and give advice
To talk about paperwork that’s not so nice
To get ideas and talk when I’m bored
and because of this my confidence has soared
There’s been a few times when I wanted to give in
But by coming on here I’ve turned my frown into a grin
So thank you all for making my job more happy
and I’m just off to change another nappy

:D

Not like you lot to be so shy and reserved when there is a competition running :laughing::laughing:

It's going to be the the easiest decision we've ever had if we only get one entry

I joined the forum to get activity ideas, and to hear how others deal with challenges they face so I can make am informed decision as to how I should deal with them.also I feel like I have adult interaction when I log on :)

I visit the Forum because I live on the moon, and I'm hoping to find out who is looking after the nosy little girl who spies on me through her telescope every evening. Tell her to stop!

The great advice,
The fun ideas,
When smoke is coming out of my ears!
The forum is the place to come when celebrating a success or feeling glum.
I love the way we share our day, even though we are miles away.
There's banter, there's friendship and lots of laughs too.
My job is so much better because of all of you :-)

Wow 30,000!!! That's amazing!

Well I use the forum to read about how everyone deals with different things from parents to policies, to get ideas for improving my setting and to know what other things to avoid, to keep updated with the latest legislation and to be nosey!

We're now all scrambling to set up 59 new webmail accounts to get 59 new addresses with which to create 59 Forum sock-puppet identities, so we can each 'like' ourselves 59 times and win, win WIN !!!!!! :D

I sit alone, amongst the mess
And wonder what I’m doing.
The scattered toys, the constant noise
The baby’s endless pooing.

I wonder if I’m doing it right.
Where does this profile fit?
I start to question what I do
And wonder “should I quit?”

I dream of days from long ago
When I was office based
The adult chat, the grown up talk
The tea breaks evenly spaced.

So should I go back to those days
And those things I remember?
To have my house back as a home,
No Christmas till December?

I’d have no need to visit here
Or chat to you, my friends
To share ideas and have a laugh
To see what each day sends.

I’d miss the fun, I’d miss the laughs
I’d miss the things you say
I’d miss the kids, I’d miss the job
Oh, go on then…I’ll stay!

You ask how has the Forum
Helped me with my work?
I’d say it’s helped me carry on
And enjoy every perk.

I love this forum, it's given me endless ideas or crafts etc to do with my mindees and just provided some company when I need to feel like someone else understands the hassles this job brings!

There has also been a few times when it's shown me what not to do as a childminder lol!

2 members to go

I first started with just 'having a peek' then one day I took the plunge and joined the forum. It helps in many ways. The main one for me is I feel I'm not alone anymore. This can be an isolating job and since LA's don't have the money or resources to visit us as often I now feel I am part of a hugh 'virtual office' all working together to keep independent childminders achieiving their best, aiming high, being very well informed and advertising that we are 'out there' and we are not going to disappear. Thank you, for the vast range of topics discussed. It is always good to see another professionals view point as we can can learn from one another. Keep posting CM's!

I joined a few years ago. Sadly I didn't post for some time. But went through a bad time and came back here for childminding support. I won't be leaving the forum again. Great support, advice. Ideas. I love sharing my ideas and getting positive feedback.... Something I wasn't getting elsewhere xx love this group I no longer feel completely alone x
