My LA is putting on safeguarding training course one morning in a few weeks but unfortunately I can't make the date. Aside from being slightly shocked at the cost (£50) I'm now a bit stumped as the say I can *only* do their courses and no other provider is adequate however the only other courses available in the next 6 months are evenings starting at 6:30 over 20 miles away which I can't manage with cm & own DC.

It seems crazy that we can choose our own first aid provider from a list of suitable providers but safeguarding must be done in-house at a not insignificant cost! Can they really do this?

£50 sounds a bit overpriced. I'm in Kent and I'm booked on the ones you're talking about early next year but they are only £26. But I am near to widmore centre. Can't they suggest anywhere else

My last one was free, I hope they haven't started charging for mine too. Sounds very steep....
