Does anyone have a system or programme to work out the nutritional value of a typical menu they offer? Has anyone does this?

The Voluntary Food and Drink Guidelines for Early years Settings in England.

I do not see any point in trying to assess the nutrition in a single meal- it is better to look at the whole week's menu to see how balanced it is. This whole-menu approach is supported by the Children's Food trust, see the links above- there is an EY section, there is online training you can do and the Menu Planning Check List is really useful, and the Code of Conduct check list.

All the above can be printed off for your folders and counts as CPD hours too!

That's a good point, some days are naturally healthier than others too.
