Another tax return question, with things like toddler groups etc I don't have receipts, I just note it in my diary where we've been and entrance fee, it's always under the £10 and I enter it into my expenses sheet, do I need anything more for my accounts?
Should I be writing myself receipts for all these small amounts?

No you don't need to write yourself a receipt if you don't have one for things like toddler group fees - just enter in your accounts. If you buy something from a car boot sale or from someone privately where you don't get a receipt - take some paper with you, write yourself one and get the seller to sign it for you. If you buy from e-bay you can just print off the e-mail of winning bid. My difficulty is getting the bin bag of receipts from the bag onto my accounts spread sheet!

We do things differently but it is not difficult to put all the expenses where you do not get receipts together at the end of the month to enter in your accounts.

You can list your un-receipted expenses in your diary and then use an invoice book to record them...these books are very cheap and you can buy them in any stationery shop.

Some cms do not account for things below £10 but it is better to do so as they can amount to a great deal at the end of the financial year...having used an accountant for many years I was always told to record any expense however small.
