Quick one to fill in , asking our views on the proposed 30 hours funding.

from my reply...
Currently 2 year olds from 'deprived' backgrounds can access 15 hours free funding in order to close the gap in attainment between themselves and other 'more advantaged' children.
The government propose that at age 3 these children will still be able to access the same 15 hours - whilst children of 'working parents' ( more advantaged and already higher attaining on average) can access 30 hours.
The attainment gap which started to close will once again be split wide open .
Working parents happy to access extra 'free; hours.
Government happy to have secured their votes.
Providers less than happy as many are subsidising this free care.

But where is the best interest of the child in all this? what about children who need a little extra help getting the best possible start in life? Abandoned by the politicians .
