Can you claim mortgage interest on expenses?

Please can you advise me if a percentage of your mortgage interest can be claimed against expenses and if so, how much?

No it's due to capital gains tax if you gave up minding or sold the house, but people who rent can claim a proportion of their rent because it won't ever be their house.
