Does a bog standard game of snakes and ladders cover any areas of learning dyou think? maths?

Yes, loads. PSED- turn taking, sharing, relationships, managing feelings and behaviour. M- counting, number recognition. CL- all the discussion during the game, L- reading the rules. Colours, shapes, comparing sizes/shapes (long snake/short snake)... and I am sure more can come out of it depending on what the child does with it.

PD: Fine motor skills, hand/eye co-ordination - picking up small counters. Control needed to throw die (without it rolling off table each time) :-)

Thanks guys, I'm having trouble getting myself into the mindset of which learning areas activities cover, im hoping it comes more naturally after a while! :-)
