Hi all - I am guessing no but thought it's worth picking your brains

I've been off sick this week, tonsillitis- felt rotten only just able to get out of bed. Aside from feeling terrible letting the families down, money!!

I'll have 3 days off, I'll prob lose around £400 ish a Im not paid for sickness absence.

Can I claim any ssp or anything similar to bridge the gap?

No because you are self employed but do check.
Cms can, however, set up an 'Income Protection' policy to cover for long term sickness and protect income that way.

No idea but I guess if we could you would have to be off for more than 3 days before it applies same as if you are employed. You can get maternity pay now SMP but don't know about SSP.

Hope you feel better soon

Citizens Advice - Off work because of sickness (http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/work_e/work_time_off_work_e/off_work_because_of_sickness.htm)

No SSP for self-employed.
I hope you are feeling better now. xx
