WELL I made £16 unexpectedly today so I think i'm going to take £10 to Wilkos tomorrow and buy some things for a treasure basket based on metal. I have stuff for a natural basket and some things for colour but absolutely nothing for metal. Should be fun!! But i can just hear my husband saying 'what do you need that for?'!!

a treasure basket is a basket type container with lots of different objects in
designed to stimulate baby's senses and imagination. they are totally fantastic! my baby is sat right in front of me as we speak exploring his basket which currently contains lots of natural items such as corks, wooden nail brush, wooden curtain ring, wicker ball, wooden spoon, cardbord roll, piece of leather etc

there's loads of good posts on here about treasure baskets. have a look you'll be converted for life!! they are also a must for the eyfs!!

Dont buy a metal whisk from Wilko's - I bought a pack with 2 in and they fell apart immediately.

I love treasure baskets, it reminds me I have not got anything metal in there!
My baby girl absolutely loves it as well. She can play with it a lot longer than with commercial toys. I love watching her observing what's in there!!
Have fun spending!!

metal tablespoon
metal measuring cups
metal ruler
bulldog clip ( but check it's flipping hard to open first or you#ll get noses being chopped off!!)
small milkpan
metal curtain rings
metal photo frame ( I'd take glass out I think though or put safety film on)
whisks
metal egg cups y'know the ones that cheapie shops do?
keys on a keyring
garlic crusher
empty biscuit/coffee type tins

I've never heard of this to but thats a brilliant idea, and as usual its the simpliest & cheapest ideas that are the best! I bet the babies spend ages in there!

You can also pic up bits and bobs at Ikea, if you have one near you. I got a great set of three nesting tins. They are white with spots on and each has a lid. They make a great noise when something smaller is put inside and shaken. I also have some quite large bells in mine that are tied together with ribbon, the springy type metal egg cups and a tiny tea strainer.
