But it should not be that you do it only 'for your Inspection' (although I would want mine up to date if I knew inspector was coming and I would send to inspector before inspection) but it is something you should do for yourself and your practice- to reflect on how you are doing, how you can improve, what you want to change.
It can be a diary or note book, whatever works for you. Either as ongoing notes to self, or on a six-monthly cycle of thinking about what you are doing, why and how it is working etc. Parent questionnaires would feed into it too.
Ofsted have an online SEF on their website which I use, but is not compulsory. Benefit is that you can upload it to Ofsted so you know they have got it. Downside it that it is not the most user-friendly format, but the free guide by Sarah here is helpful when filling it in.
