Since I started childminding, I've been looking after the same group of children (nearly 3yrs) and one of them has left me today

Same for us here! Our last few long-terms will move on next year :(

Seems really strange when these little people have been part of your family and home for so long, then they have to move on.

You never know, you might find yourself in the position I had here, where one of your first mindees rings up to see if you have space for THEIR little one. Makes me feel quiet old!!!!

I've only been doing this job 6 months but I agree you do get attached I can't imagine what it's like saying goodbye after that length of time. Sending hugs xx

Know what you mean Sylvia! I've had this a couple of times as I started minding in the late 80's!! I think it's great although you do wonder where your life went!

We will Skype and it's a lovely reason for the children to be pen pals.

It's crazy how big apart of our lives they become!! After years in childcare I've never quite formed bonds like this x
