Hi, I am a childminder needing some help with the contents of my Learning Journey books. On each page I have a photo of the child doing an activity. I write about what they did and how I supported them in their learning and development. I also note the next steps and links to the eyfs in which I use coloured stickers to show which areas the activity covered. I have been told that I need to link development matters within each activity but I am not sure how to do this, can anyone help please?:panic:

Look at the latest update from Ofsted on Conducting EY Inspections which kicks in Sept 2014 and you will find what you need to do when you report to parents
This is on page 10-11...link here

Ofsted | Conducting early years inspections (http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/resources/conducting-early-years-inspections)

It is a summary that is required and ...new now...it has to be 'good quality'
Progress has to be linked to the child's development ...not each activity but when you observe a child it will show his progress or where you need to intervene to support further

you can use DM as a guidance and then look at EYO...neither are statutory
