End of Summer Holiday Party Ideas

I would love some ideas and inspiration in organising a small party for my mindees this week. This will be a goodbye summer holiday party :-( The children are 21 months, 2 four years olds and a 5 year old. The last day they are all with me is this Wednesday. I would like to spend some of the day planning the party with the children tomorrow. Have any of you arranged a similar party? My ideas so far:

Tomorrow:
Have the children make party hats for their party the next day
Have the children bake something for the party - a cake perhaps or biscuits. The only problem I foresee here is the littlest one being majorly unhappy at not getting to eat the cake tomorrow. Suppose I could let them
Paper chains in colourful summer colours to decorate

On the day:
Party games - pass the parcel; musical states; musical chairs... pin the tail on the donkey.... any other ideas? It's worth noting one of the 4 year olds is very competitive and HATES to lose at anything :-/
Have the children roll their own pizza & put their own toppings on pizza

and that's all I can think of. Anything else that would work well for this? I'm leaving it late to plan but think it'll be nice to have the children help with organising tomorrow. Many thanks in advance. x

Oh dear, I should have proof read. I meant to say I could give them a tiny bit of cake tomorrow.

Show an ability - singing frozen, a dance, a joke :-)

Teach them some party dances such as Macarena, superman dance etc! Sorry I keep putting on separate posts just thinking as I go to bed lol x

ice and decorate biscuits
make medals and then do egg and spoon races etc
get them to make a big banner saying party time or something
party tea - children could help prepare it
music and dancing
print off certificates and do a prize winning ceremony - eg Certificate to the best helper this summer etc each child gets one

Ah some great ideas thank you! They made great party hats today and are excited about the party tomorrow. They've decided it's a dress up party and are bringing their costumes.

I've just spent a small fortune in Sainsburys buying party bags; food etc. There goes tomorrows wages! I've found some Christmas crackers in the cupboard so am going to try open them and place kiddy stuff inside. Love some of these ideas especially the certificate idea, so will be printing and laminating tonight. Also dance comp and will show them some dance moves - will have to youtube to refresh my memory :-) I've got little fairy cakes and have a piping bag so the kids will be making their own pizza and icing the cakes.

I've even getting a bit excited myself :-)

I love childrens parties, I also really like the certificate idea, I ll be using that at some point ;-). Have fun :-D

Thanks for the suggestions. The party went down a storm! It was really sweet when my first 2 mindees appeared (early) and mum said the oldest had be so excited about the party and was desperate to tell his dad he was going to a party and he could hardly sleep. We played 'Pin the hat on Mike' (Monsters Inc) and all the usual party games. We added in dance moves from youtube. The superman one went down well - the little one who isn't 2 yet was fab at following the moves. I admit my own child cried and had a bit of a strop when other children won at the games - even though he had just won! I ended up making the cakes etc myself but they all rolled and topped their own pizzas.

Lastly, I made up certificates for them all, tailored to what they like (Superheros/Frozen) and they were the best idea of the day. They were all so happy to get them. One little boy wants to take his to school when he starts p1 next week. Another little girls mum was so chuffed with her childs certificate that she posted on facebook.

The best thing about the day was that the child I have who never gets along with my own son, was an absolute star. He is usually highly competitive but was so good spirited when others won games. I was really proud of him. for anyone who wants superhero or Frozen certificates I'm happy to pm you. :-)
