My husband works with me as my assistant and under the space requirements we can have 6 under fives if we want. However, if it was just me working on my own I know I can only have one baby under the age of one, but as I have an assistant can I have two babies???

Yes, effectively you can double the standard ratio's i.e 6 under 8 - of which 3 under 5 ,1 of which 1 can be under 1 x 2 = 12 under 8- 6 under 5 of which 2 can be under 1 (if your brave enough) of course space allowing and any planning restriction allowing.

12 under 8yrs oh no!!! :panic: :panic: i'm sure you don't want this as it was more the under 5's and under 1's you wanted to know about.

Thanks for the confirmation but yes I wouldn't want 12 under 8's!

It shows how different CMs are...

I personally would love to have 12 under 8 with an assistant .... if that meant a mixture of babies, toddlers, school children and also the older ones...what an experience that would be!
It is also dependant on the space you have for that number

Yes you can have a baby each. My assistant is hopefully starting in sept and we are going up to 12 in total which includes my 6 and 9 and her 9 year old so not all under 8 but only 9 mindees in total. I'm excited :-) most of the before and after school time is school age children with only 2 under 5s as most of the under 5s come short hours in school time.
