Hello

I am sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong area!

My husband and I are looking to start our own child minding business and are not quite sure where to start. Is there a checklist anywhere?

One of the first things that I am not sure about is the space - I understand that you have to have 2.5 square metres per child, if over the age of 3. This seems like rather a large amount of space! Not sure my house is going to be big enough, can anyone lend some advice?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

I would not really think about space (unless your space is very small) but the numbers of children you are allowed. You might have a play room the size of a football pitch, but you will not be allowed to have any more than the maximum allowed.

I would find out the regulations regarding childminding numbers, is your husband going to be registered in his own right, or be an assistant, as this also affects numbers, etc

Good luck with your journey
