Hi,
So I'm just waiting for DBS checks to come back and then will be applying to Ofsted. As well as a massive tidy up and sort out there a couple of big (expensive!) jobs that I think will need to be done before I start minding-

1- modifying the side gate so it is full height (to prevent access/ escape!)

2- Changing the backdoor to have safety glass (door isn't ever used as we have patio doors next to it)

We will also be replacing the porch this year- this will happen regardless of minding.

I don't want to spend a fortune on changing the gate to find it's still not right. It is custom made to fit to fit the slope at the side of the house to give boat access to back garden and has a gate for people too. After any alterations it will still need to be able to be opened to the full width.

How ready does the house need to be?

You just need to show areas you want to register and make sure they are safe dont worry they will point things out to you and ask if you have risk assessed them, stair gates or show how you have risk assessed that kind of thing :)
