Woo Hoo! Just the news I needed!

'Mum of 2' has phoned to say she wants me!! ...... In the meeting she said she wanted 3 days a week Mon, Tues, Thurs but I couldn't do the Thursday (which is why she said she had to think about it)

Anywho, tonight she said could she have the Mon & Tues and the Friday as and when she needed it (she's a nurse and he's a Policeman so work shifts)............ Hmmmmm I had to do some quick thinking and ths is what I came up with...

I have said I will contract her for Mon & Tues she can have Friday as and when she needs it (she reckons 2 a month on current shift pattern). However, if someone approaches me and wants the Friday permanent I will give her first refusal to make it a 'contracted day' iyswim.

Do you think I did the right thing? - surely I can't lose cos if someone else comes along wanting the Friday I have the option to take it.

I also have a policeman and the shift scenario with one of my parents, and they asked if they could have x amount of days off every month or so and I said I couldn't commit to x day, as I wouldn't be able to fill that odd vacancy every time. It was a gamble but they signed up straight away anyway, and on their day off they get a proper day off now ;)
