Hey all,

I know from previous discussions with you that lots on here use eBay.

Hackers have hacked in and stole encrypted information about users and eBay and urging everyone to change their passwords for your protection as soon as you can!!

Just done mine.

Pretty straight forward top left hand drop down box by your name > account setting > personal settings > password edit.

Are you sure the email you recieved isn't a scam itself?
I've just been on EBay and there is no notification message in my message box, which I would expect if something like this had happened.

I'm just a bit cautious as I'm get about 5-6 emails a day telling me my Paypal account has been suspended but it hasn't & the email isn't from PayPal.

I would just double check before doing anything xx

No problems - glad lots of you have got round to doing it.

I agree you would think that as soon as you log in there would be a message or a pop up requiring you to change your password to continue.

I'm the same, my husband said I had better change it and I said "maybe if the hackers find out what my password is they could let me know! :D

Just thought I would say I've popped on eBay today and there is a password alert message to click in at the top of the screen

- so they have put one up - just took their time lol :) xx

I've heard today apparently this eBay hacking was 3 months ago and they've known about it for the last two weeks but have only just announced it :/ x

I read this late last night! Seems like a damage limitation thing going on. Trying to limit the bad press maybe?
We had not clue until it was spread all over the media/newspapers etc.
