Saw this at the weekend in B and Q, and bought it today, and I have to say it's fab!
Malta Overhanging Parasol, 5052931124282 (http://www.diy.com/nav/garden/outdoor-living/parasols-awnings/Malta-Overhanging-Parasol-12718819)

It covers a huge area and feels very sturdy
Bargain for the price, especially if you have no shade in the garden

I bought the slightly larger one n love it. It tilts up like a sail so covers a much bigger area.

Looks good for the price....pity I already have one.

If anyone spots a cheap lightweight parasol I would be grateful for the info.

I bought two new superduper bases last year for my old parasols that the mice have chewed in the shed over the winter!

But the bases have quite a narrow tube, which hold lightweight parasols and I keep seeing heavy ones that won't fit the tubes.

I also love the light weight ones for beach use.....so eyes peeled please folks.

Does it tip over easily as I wanted one then read reviews that the base isn't strong enough to hold the parasol and tips over easily? Xx

You have to weight the base down, which I have with some paving slaps.

Having put it up yesterday, and enjoyed it for a few hours, last night we had a thunder storm, so with the wind which was quite fierce by the time I realised it was going to rain, I did think I'd find it on it's side lol, but no, it was still standing so I wound the canopy down, and it was fine

I have put an extra slab over the top of 2 but it stood up to the wind yesterday x

Yes it looks as if it is meant to be permanently fixed down by 4 paving slabs I would want to use it around the children unless it was fixed as per instructions.

I've just used 4 slabs as weights Rickysmiths, doesn't say anything about permanently fixing it, just to use weights

I had the 4 slabs on it but with the wind yesterday I had to put an additional one on there as it was lifting them.
