Parent arrived this morning and told me she has been asked to take part in this SEED research for dept of ed...they have given her a letter for me asking if I would agree to be involved too. Has anybody been involved in this? I am going to look at in detail tonight but thought I would see if anyone on here has been involved?

SEEd News | Response from Department of Education (http://www.se-ed.org.uk/news/secretary-of-state.html)

This is all I could find. It seems the Dept Education stopped this in 2011 and it was taken over by various Charities but I can't find and up to date info. It all seems to link to the USA which isn't much help.

Managed to have a quick look while the little ones were napping.... the letter had this website on it which gives all the information needed Home | Study of Early Education and Development | SEED (http://www.seed.natcen.ac.uk/) I think I will opt in as any opportunity to highlight the positive work we do must be a good thing.

I agreed to do this with 1 of my parents. Sent my form off in January but haven't heard anything from them.

This research is being funded by the DfE...I was at a conference where the people running it told us about it...it will take years and was launched a while back
My thoughts is that it is very much on the scale of EPPE

The aim is to see if the govt investment in early education is paying off...I think they will involve parents as well as settings
