This morning a lo was complaining of her arm hurting, nothing had happened in particular so we had no idea why her arm was hurting. I picked her up & asked her to straighten her arm but she said it hurt too much. I rang mum & mum came and took her to a&e. It turns out her elbow had popped out of its socket, it's been put back in now & she's totally fine. Mum said it had happened to her a few times when she was younger. I've written up an incident form & recorded everything, had it signed etc. but do I need to inform ofsted?

Thanks

No don't need to notify Ofsted as the child wasn't admitted to hospital just treated in A & E - you have done the right thing in recording the incident but I would also get the mum to sign to say that this had happened before although when the child was younger. Must have been worrying for you but at least you will know what to expect if it happens again.
