Thanks everyone

I think it went ok - although will have to wait and see as I told her at the start that she didn't need to decide here and now.

As the mum was leaving though, she did mention she might pop to the nursery on the way home and see if they will let her out of the 4 week termination period (they can't accommodate her hours) - so fingers crossed this is a promiaing sign.

No questions were asked of me, as she said I had clarified everything for her before the meeting.

Please keep those fingers crossed.

:)

Well done, that sounds very promising.

What I do after a first visit is email the parents, thanking them for their time and clarifying what we spoke about...and adding a bit about how I enjoyed meeting them and their child and how happy I feel their child would be here, if they did decide to bring them.

Very often it prompts a quick reply

That is great. You will have time to do settling in.

Very excited now - just booked the settling in sessions for the end of May.

The little one has just turned two and is currently in a Nursery - should I check that they have completed the progress check at 2?

Also, would it be worth asking for the mums permission to contact the nursery and do some sort of 'handover'?

Yes it would be worth checking with the nursery if the 2 yr check has been done. Mum should get the learning journey to pass onto you also...
And if mum is happy for nursery to do a handover as such then that would be good too...don't worry if you can't tho.
