Hey all,

I have a nearly 3 year old and a 14month old siblings coming for a settling in hour tomorrow with their dad and then friday they will be with me for another settling in for 2 hours on their own....i am thinking of getting out the duplo farm animals tomorrow for them to play with along side my son who is 23 months old.

I have been thinking of questions to ask the parents but can't think of anything so am just going to see if any questions arise from the sessions...

If anyone has any advice for settling in sessions I'd be very grateful :-)

I tend to just chat to parents and go with the flow.

I would have a few different toys ready in case they don't engage with whatever you first get out. Toy cars always seem to be popular here.

I ask parents to tell me a bit about their child's routine, what they like to play with, anything they don't like, whether they need a sleep during the day, where they sleep, how long for, what they like to eat etc.

To be honest I'm a bit of a chatterbox, so always find something to talk about :laughing:
