A parent has posted on Fb that she had dysentery (sp) and has passed it on to her own mother , she is the type to send her twins no matter that's wrong with them, they are due tomorrow how can I ask / check that they haven't got any signs without upsetting her also don't want to come over all official quoting policies etc
Thanks

Tricky one... It like a d&v bug but can you ask the parent before the child arrives that you seen it on Facebook and if child displays symptoms you will send home? We can't exclude unless child is sick but chances are high of it spreading. How is your working relationship with parent

Chances are pretty fair that they will get it, I would think, especially if her attention to hygiene was poor enough that she passed it into her mother. Specific information leaflet is here:

Don't think you can exclude, but observe the usual good hygiene measures (forget that, bleach everywhere, repeatedly, like a cleaning crazed maniac ;)) and send the children home at the very first sign of any illness, don't wait for three nappies or whatever.
