Can I put this down as an expense?

Hi,

I've recently provided holiday care for a couple of guinea pigs and currently have pair of chicks (until the end of the month) and have noticed how much my mindees love handling them and helping to feed them. I'm now considering getting a pair of guinea pigs. My own children are teenagers and not interested so I would be getting them for just for my mindees benefit. Therefore, would to be ok to put this down as an expense and what percentage could I do? Thanks.

I always say if I get it for the children then in claim it as an expense...

My opinion : claim all of it - just because they are living doesn't mean they aren't a resource like paint or glue.
