Childcare.co.uk are delighted to offer all of our members a free flexible Daily Diary!
All Childcare.co.uk members can download a fully illustrated .pdf version of the diary at https://www.childcare.co.uk/download/daily-diary.pdf
Gold members get access to a Daily Diary in Microsoft Word format which can be adapted to suit your everyday needs. You could add your logo and clip art to complement your other documentation. The Word version is available to gold members at https://www.childcare.co.uk/download/daily-diary.doc
Both diaries come with ideas for completion.
*** Why do I need a Daily Diary ***
All early years providers including childminders recognise the importance of working in close partnership with parents and have developed a variety of different ways of achieving this. Diaries, written through the day and sent home for parents to read, encourage partnership working and support childminders to show evidence of sharing children’s learning with their family.
Diaries can also be used to support children’s home learning by providing ideas about activities children might like to do with their parents and they encourage parents to provide feedback about their child’s learning and interests at home.
Diaries can be written very quickly – some quick parent handover comments, a few positive observations about what the child has done through the day and some care notes – job done!
We have lots more online guides and documentation for childminders in the Childminding Guides section of the Childcare.co.uk website at https://www.childcare.co.uk/information/childminder-plus
