How many children can i mind?

Hi, I'm new and just in the process of setting up and arranging my ofsted visit. Can anyone advise how many children I can mind? I have An 18 month old son who will be with me all the time.

You are allowed 3 pre-schoolers so therefore you have two spaces left as your son takes up a place. You may also have 3 school children up to 8 years old. I'm not sure of the restriction after 8 but they are effectively out of your numbers. Their care must not impact on the younger ones

You will need to get hold of the latest version (2012) of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and regulations covering the Childcare Register. Without a working knowledge of these documents you will struggle to get through your inspection.
