This was covered at a conference I was at years ago and is fascinating. Since then I've loved trying to get photos of babies pointing before they can speak :-)

I have one of those and short of getting ear plugs I now have a fantastic insight on his endless pointing and loud message!!!
I never knew there was a proto imperative and proto declarative pointing...we learn something every day
I am so glad I know and will make my next steps so much easier!!!
