So parent had said he went to doctors last week they just gave cream for his face around his mouth as it looked sore and today it had broke out looked really sore when I had a closer look with glasses on I thought its inpertigo looked it up on internet and I was sure he had it told parent she has taken him to walk in clinic yes he has had it. How long to I exclude him from coming as she is saying he will be back Thursday .

He should be fine by Thursday if medication takes affect but if the cream hasn't worked it must be bad or it's not being applied and a dose of antibiotics may be needed.

I exclude until skin is healed, no raised crusty/weeping bits. It's a horrible skin problem, it won't clear up without treatment and will spread among little ones particularly. You will have to be firm on this one. If you tell mum this she may make sure lo gets the medication properly.

I think it's 48hrs after commencing antibiotic treatment which I think is often a cream, but could be longer if the sores haven't dried up.

I had it years ago and was told it is contagious til it heal (stops weeping). It's extremely contagious so get your anti bac out. You don't want to catch it!! It was awful x
