Hello and welcome. Your first point of call will be your local council's Family Information Service They will tell you how you need to go about becoming a childminder in your area. You have to do your Local Authority's approved childminding course (may be Cypop5 or something else). You will need to do Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid and Food hygiene Your LA may combine these in one course. How much it costs depends on your LA.

It can take anything from 3 months to a year to register depending on area.
