I have just been planning my garden and this year I want to make a new potato bed, which I had planned to do at half term- I hope mine don't come yet! Although you do have to chit them ...so It might be ok!

Exciting for the children on Monday though, cross fingers for the right weather to make digging the potato patch the best activity yet!!!!

Mine arrived today!

I have checked the RHS website and they say you can chit for 6 weeks ( the instructions on the gyop info say 2) so I should be ok as I haven't built the potato bed yet. ( I am using the bags they provide for carrots this year).

Sparklebox have great visuals to use so they have been printed, awaiting lamination. I have a plastic see through box that is weatherproof so the potato bed is planned to hang this on the edge. In it will be the stickers that come from gyop - every time we look at the potato beds the LO's can take a sticker - to encourage them to observe ( used to do this at school always worked well). The bed will also have wooden hook pegs for the potato timeline and a white board pen to mark which stage the potatoes are at when they have 'observed'.

All planned......just need some digging effort!

Some lovely ideas Floradora. I am using the bags this year because I want to redo my garden and want to start the potatoes while we work on the garden.
