Hi, Hubbie is off during the hols and i'm working. I don't drive but he does. If he was to take us out a couple of times what would i need to do? Would i have to get his insurance done? It will only be twice to places i cant get to by bus. It will also be just my DS and 1 mindee.

Thanks Lou

I don't drive but sometimes hubby or ds will take us out or I cadge lifts with other childminders.

You need to make sure whoever is driving is properly insured and that the children use appropriate seats/seatbelts.

I also get written permission from mindees parents for each trip saying who is driving as well as where we are going and if mindees use their own car seat

Miffy has your Husband got normal insurance or the one we would need? I would of got a permission form and get her to fit car seat.

Get your husband to check with his insurance company whether he is covered.

If you transport mindees then you need insurance to cover ... that goes for anyone, including your husband.

You might not have to pay much extra though ... worth a call to his car insurance company :D

Ours didn't cost any extra on both cars

whoevers driving definately needs business insurance - but i don't think its got to be specialist, you can get it with your current insurer.

We have buisness insurance on both cars...even though it's only mine that's uaually used for mindees....but you just never know do you (which is why both are insured) Our's is done through our normal insurers and it's not that much more expensive.
