Tonight when lo was collected mum asked if we would be going to toddlers tomorrow. I said no because it's ds' school play in the morning. I told her that my sister is having my ds so it'll just be me and her lo going as I'd have to battle to keep my ds still the whole time.
She just phoned and said she has spoken to her boss and she has a days holiday she can take. So she has booked tomorrow off so I can go and watch ds in his play in peace :) and then she reminded me that as she had given less than 4 weeks notice as per her contract it will be full pay :)
I'm going to charge our normal half fees but how nice is that :) :)

fantastic - what a lovely parent! Wish there were more like that! Have a lovely time at your sons play. I'm going to my sons with 3 toddlers in tow but I have arranged to go to their dress rehersal so I won't feel too bad if they fidget. I normally take a blanket so they can sit at my feet and play with the toys and books I take but they normally enjoy the songs and so on and behave really well.

Our school doesn't allow children, they're so strict I've never heard anything like it! 2 tickets per family, strictly ticket only too.

2 shows, can't go tomorrow as I'm working but will be at Friday morning one.

I would have been very upset if I'd had my usual 18mo mindee and couldn't go! I think it should be a real family time, kids and all personally.

My local primary stopped pre school children going years ago despite acknowledging children cared for by attended childminders were well behaved. I can remember going to school concert with 3 sleeping children in triple buggy parking it in school foyer and standing in hall doorway so my sons could see me as they entered. The minute children started to wake I had to leave
