Can any one please advise.Do we need to wait untill our children are 16 or do we need to have the DBS in place for when they are 16. My son is 16 in January do I need to apply now or wait till he is 16.

Ofsted will contact you by letter to do your teens check.
I waited 4 weeks, then called them as I hadn't received anything, they sent another form out (EY2 I think it was), I sent it off, received the DBS, sent it off to Ofsted, recieved it back with a letter saying all's good.

In the meantime, about 3 months after b'day, I received the 'original' letter :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I advise you to spend the time now making sure he has evidence ready because a lot of parents of 16 year olds are really struggling with the new DBS evidence trail :(
