I'm just about to lose my dad, final stages of cancer. He's got just weeks now. As you can imagine its very stressful and I'm living on my nerves feel sick all the time. I'm due my first graded, prospect rang on Monday and said inspector will ring soon to let me know when they are coming. I would rather have inspection before rather than after the inevitable iykwim? I don't know if I will be working afterwards. Do you think I could ring prospect and get them to hurry it up?thanks

You could try and explain the circumstances but if not explain afterwards and say you are not working

Thoughts and hugs to you and your family.

So sorry to hear this - sounds really stressful for you. I would have thought that it's worth a try to give Prospects a ring and explain and ask for an inspection asap.

I just need to get it over with so I can concentrate on my dad. The woman at prospect said they will assign an inspector to me so I will ring on Monday and try and get inspectors number or to pass a message on.

Oh bless you. I've been there, but not with an inspection looming at the same time. Yes, give them a call. Do you think you will stay strong enough/composed while you are on the phone to them?

We're all here for you. xxx

My dad is also dying of cancer and I can't imagine the stress you are under with the inspection looming. I think these must be special circumstances allowances surely, if you need to take off for bereavement Ofsted must surely make allowances? I will be interested to hear the outcome as may be in the same position myself soon.

Tbh I feel that the worse he gets the less I care about the inspection. I will explain to the inspector and then do my best And whatever will be will be. I just need it over with.

Who can think of anything else but their relative when going through something like this..maybe you need to take some time off. Not always easy I know especially if reliant on the money.

But then again, I think I would be the same, and just want the inspection over with to relieve the stress.

Hugs x x

I can't take time off even though j feel I need to as I look after my friends two girls and she has absolutely nobody. She will have to take time of work when I can't work for a few days but she will get it in the neck of her boss.

You would hope that Ofsted would be sympathetic in circumstances like these and either come asap or leave you well alone while you and your family say your goodbyes.

Everybody is full that I know of, I'm just going to have to muddle through. I'm hoping inspector rings this week. I feel bad because if I didn't register then my friend would of put kids in a nursery and wouldn't have this problem. She has been really understanding though as she lost her dad in tragic circumstances. It's the whole nit knowing. I also don't want to start blubbering in front if inspector as I find when I talk About it the floodgates open without warning. While I'm working the kids keep me occupied and I switch off but as soon as they go I'm a wreck.
