Hello all

I am looking for some inspiration - I have a soil tray that is around a meter wide and the back comes up higher than the front and sitting on the back is a shelf.

I wanted to do a creative but not messy messy activity (jelly, shaving foam etc) with it as I already have a messy activity planned.

Could you give me any inspiration as to what I could fill it with for the little ones?? What works well for you??

Amy :)

I filled my water tray with cornflakes and rice crispies in the summer and let the LO's have dinosaurs or animals in there for small world play...good source of discussion about the feel of it, the sound it makes etc...
It is a bit messy, but v easy to clean up after

Lentils, oats, rice etc and a tea set for lots of pouring and mixing.
A little soil, sand and stones along with construction vehicles and people.
The same soil, sand and stones with dinosaurs.
Small world dolls & furniture, Farm animals /zoo animals and buildings.
Cars and blocks to make race track.
Duplo.
Autumn leaves etc.
Play dough.

As you can tell... I put everything and anything in mine! Sometimes a totally random selection of objects plus a few little bowls of rice, sand etc and it's amazing what they do!
