Ofsted registration question....

Hello :)

I am currently completing my CYPOP 5 course. I just have a quick question... Is there a time limit on when you need to start childminding after you register with Ofsted - e.g within 3 months, 6 months??

Any answers would be greatly appriciated..... Thank you :)

No time limit as such, but you need EYFS children on role, and present on the day, for your first graded inspection. That is usually 6mths after registration.

If they phone to arrange an inspection and you have no children on role you can say so and they will get back to you on a later date with the hope that you will have children on role then, I believe.

I hope someone will come along who has been through this as I believe there must be a limit to this, you can't be forever registered but not inspected, and I think I heard that if you are inspected with no EYFS children on role you can only receive a low grade...?
