Last year we used glass paint to decorate old glass jars (like nutella and jam jars) then cut out a black strip of card for round the top, stuck on scary eyes and teeth and popped in a tea light. We used green and orange paints and it was so easy even for the little ones to get some paint onto the glass.

we made paper plate webs by making snips around the outside of the plate then winding wool around we then stuck a spider in the middle

use PVA glue onto a plastic surface (like a plastic paper sleeve) and make a spider web shape, either paint it or pour it, making sure all the lines touch. When dry you can peel it off the plastic and have a clear plastic web to use for decoration or to make a spider to live on. I normally make my spiders by woolen pompoms.
